Next Year's Snow (2021) installation / found objects / 60x90x50cm
The idea of the project is to send snow collected in Slovenia to Antarctica as a donation to help stop the effects of global warming. The Slovenian snow would be scattered among the Antarctic snow, replacing what has melted. Next year's snow calls for a rethink on the intentions of saving the world and on the real possibilities of simply stopping the ecological collapse driven by capitalism. It raises questions about the role of our help in achieving the goal. Who are those who encourage donations, and when are we helping to save the world and when are we merely saving our soul. This work later merged into a project nammed Treida. |
